Rapper Lil Durk Booked for Murder-for-Hire Plot

According to WGNTV Chicago, well-known Chicago drill rapper and cofounder of OTF Lil Durk has been arrested for murder-for-hire involving a rapper named Quando Rondo in which Quando’s cousin was murdered.

What Happened

On November 6, 2020, rapper (and close associate of Lil Durk) King Von was shot and killed in the streets of Atlanta. He was murdered after an altercation between him and rappers Lul Tim and Quando Rondo inside the Monaco Hookah Lounge spilled into the streets. Although he was rushed to the hospital, King Von died of multiple gunshot wounds.

“…the police … killed King Von.”

In the aftermath, rapper Lul Tim was arrested and charged with felony murder. Soon after, he posted bail with the condition of an ankle monitor. In a twist in 2023, the charges against Lul Tim were dropped. According to Asian Doll who was King Von’s girlfriend at the time of his death, the police allegedly dropped the charges because the police were the ones who killed King Von.

What Else Happened

While Lul Tim was facing murder charges related to King Von’s death, up to six men were plotting to murder Quando Rondo. In 2022, two years after King Von’s murder, five men allegedly flew out to California from Chicago to carry out a hit on the rapper.

According to the Feds, Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston, all members or associates of OTF, conspired to kill Rando. To do so, they alleged the men rented cars and hotel rooms in furtherance of the conspiracy.

After following Rando, his sister and his female cousin as they drove around and shopped in California, the men parked in an alley. Some of the men are alleged to have shot at the car Quando was in. Although Quando was hit, he survived, but his cousin did not.

After the failed hit, the men gathered at a restaurant and supposedly discussed payment. The payment for the hit would come from Lil Durk allegedly.

On October 24, 2024, an indictment was unsealed for the murder-for-hire plot naming the previous men and noting at least one unnamed conspirator. Shortly thereafter, Lil Durk was picked up by the Feds and charged in the conspiracy.

The Takeaway

Lil Durk is facing a Federal conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire charge, and some of his alleged co-conspirators are on camera committing murder. Lil Durk is also being sued in connection with another murder, and the plaintiff is arguing OTF operates as a criminal enterprise. He has a number of co-conspirators, and it is hard to keep a secret, if needed, when that many people are involved.
