Elon Musk is the Father.” The news set off a firestorm on X, the social media platform owned by the billionaire, leaving people to wonder if X is the new social media version of The Jerry Springer Show.

A few years back, MAGA supporter Ashley St. Clair expressed her desire to have what she described as a traditional Republican family which included a number of children and a husband with a farm they could share together. Having announced her pregnancy by Elon Musk on Valentine’s Day, it appears she has given up on that desire to give birth to his thirteenth child.

On X, St. Clair wrote, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.
“I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”

Reporters are calling St. Clair a “hypocrite,” noting her pregnancy goes against everything she said she stood for. Republicans have openly derided single-mothers as poor examples of what women should be in their opinion. St. Clair is alongside those conservatives who insult single-mothers regularly.
TheQuartering on X gave a stinging admonishment of conservatives. They accused conservative influencers of congratulating a “twice single mom on yet another out of wedlock child with a man who has zero intention on marrying her. Elon is degenerate…”
Many others express the same sentiments as TheQuartering. In the past, Elon Musk has publicly feuded with his child Vivian Jenna Wilson over their gender identity. The two have been estranged for years. Pointing to this, his opponents content his child with St. Clair is just another for Musk to ignore.
Much of the angst doesn’t seem to be the fact that St. Clair is pregnant out of wedlock, as the consensus is, she shouldn’t be shamed for it. The primary argument is, when conservatives do it, it’s fine but not when anyone else does it. It is unclear what Elon Musk’s next move will be. St. Claire does have supporters standing by her side wishing her well and offering their support.
