if Jesus had been born in the 21st century, he probably would be a rapper
with tattoos, dreadlocks and a crazy baby mama name Tiffany
using his lyrics to ignite the wick of revolution
while the government labels him public enemy number one
he would be so well-versed in Black history
that Donald Trump would compare him to Colin Kaepernick
and the FBI would investigate Jesus Christ
labeling him a domestic terrorist
all the while, his second album would go ten times platinum
falling into the hands of America’s children
soccer moms in khakis would boycott Best Buy
while senators change FCC rules on freedom of speech
meanwhile, Black boy stealing pound cake gets shot in his back
setting off a race riot about excessive force
Jesus would drop a single calling for revolution
Black and brown people around the country would unite
for the fist time, nine o’clock news wouldn’t air
since no real revolution can be televised
Jay Christ would be formally indicted on charges
of inciting a riot and treason and get no bail
his trial would be watched more than the OJ trial
he would wear baggy jeans, earrings and a gold rope chain
while an all white jury considers the evidence
after two minutes of deliberation
Christ would be sentenced to death by tree lynching
he’d be executed the very next day
streamed live across the globe for everyone to see
and thoughts of revolution would fade to black
