My site focuses on True Crime and other news, but you all have been asking about Emeka Ossai, the “self-publisher” currently pushing an unbelievable 3-day book-writing/publishing course. Here is an honest review of him and his tactics based off an investigation I did into him starting back in 2019. I don’t have any personal interest in this. Hopefully, this helps you make the best decision.
Emeka Ossai is Not Legit
I’ve been writing books for over a decade, and I came across Emeka Ossai in about 2018. He was a high-energy self-publisher offering information on how to be a successful author. He spoke about passive income, improving your quality of life and living how you wanted to. And he looked completely different back then.
During that time, he was slimmer and had a nearly full head of hair that he wore cropped low to the scalp. With the unfaltering smile of a master salesman, he gave off the energy of a man who knew the way. It was his confidence that earned the trust of self-publishers and authors, but a little quick digging on my end changed my perception of Emeka almost instantly.
Emeka’s Vague Publishing History
The more I listened to Emeka tell of all the thousands of books he sold, the more I wanted to know. At the time, I was in grad school finishing my master’s degree. So, I was constantly in research mode, and I have a bachelor’s in Journalism. Finding out is what I do.
That noted, Emeka had thousands of authors and self-publishers watching him on YouTube, and they all had one question: Is Emeka Ossai legit? I hit the internet with that question at the forefront of my mind.
Emeka’s Sleight of Hand
The very first thing I did as a writer was search Amazon for books written by him. None came up, and I was confused. Surely, Amazon was having some technical issues. So, I searched again and got the same. Then, I expanded my search to Google. But nothing changed.
I sat back and shook my head as I sat in my home office. How could the most popular search engine in the world not have any of Emeka Ossai’s books in the search results? He was too big to be ignored. So, I decided I would reach out to him for clarification.
Through his YouTube videos, I found out Emeka was trying to sell his “Self-Publishers’ Blueprint” through a standalone website. So, I found his email and contacted him to ask about his books. The response blew my mind.

Emeka told me by email that he didn’t have one book under his actual name because there are “… lazy ppl who will just copy them cause they know they are selling if that makes sense.” It didn’t.
Here was a man telling others how to sell books with no verifiable proof. So, I asked him one pen name he writes under so I could find at least one book. He told me he uses the pen name “Julia Alejandra.” I asked him about the book, and he said that was his second book and acknowledged it as “shit.” That was his word. And I searched for the book.

There was a book on Amazon, and it was a 32-page weight loss guide. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was proof of a book. Still, I had no way to verify he had published it. He assured me that he had over “100 books” under different pen names. I didn’t believe him. I work in a world of proof. Also, in the course of the conversation, I pointed out the many errors in his guide, and he wrote, “I’m a publisher not an author.” So, he was a “publisher” who didn’t write? He explained his process.
Basically, he hired cheap labor to write the books, and then he sold them on Amazon. He was selling thousands of books and earning a ton of money from self-publishing. But the evidence didn’t support it.
His main product, the publishing guide, was ripe with errors. It’s one thing to say, I’m a writer, and I made an error in my writing. It’s totally different to say, I am not a writer, and I paid a writer to make these errors for me. If he’s paying writers, having them make the same errors he makes defeats the purpose, other than avoiding the work of actually writing a book. Emeka Ossai is not a serious person.
A Review of Emeka Ossai
If I had to rate the information Emeka is distributing, I would give it a 2/10. In the past, Emeka sold hopeful writers the false idea of passive income from self-publishing useless content. He had wanna-be self-publishers spending money to hang out on retreats with him. And he misled them.
As an example, Emeka had a one point suggested trading reviews with other writers or self-publishers. This is unethical and likely to get a writer’s Amazon account banned. And he is still misleading.
Most recently, Emeka is pumping a 3-day book-writing and publishing class. Unsurprisingly, the class features his “custom GPT” that he’ll “give you access to”, apparently temporarily, to aid in finishing your book. Obviously, you can’t write a meaningful book in three days, and you can’t write any book.
As an example, you might be able to get an AI to put together enough text to create a short guide. But you can’t get it to write a cohesive fiction book. It’s not at that level yet. And Emeka’s 3-day class skips the most important parts of the writing process: revising, editing proofreading. How can you publish a book that hasn’t been through that process? The answer is simple: you don’t, or you publish something of low quality. He knows this. So, the pitch will be to sell you longer access to his GPT to “fix” your book. There’s a catch somewhere.
And his “custom GPT” is a bot anybody can make for freee. Go to Chat GPT and make you an AI agent. You can do the same in Google’s Gemini by making a “Gem,” a specialized agent. Don’t let Emeka scam you. Prompting is free and easy. It’s literally just instructions for the AI, nothing more.
The Takeaway
I don’t have a dog in this fight concerning Emeka Ossai’s latest scam(s). My website focuses primarily on True Crime News and Entertainment, but I also have to respond to you all who land on my site in search of information about this guy. I began calling him out in 2019 when the pieces didn’t fit together. He’s been selling a false dream of passive income while his YouTube views steadily decline.
Emeka was not ever the charismatic, confident guy who knew the way. He’s a man trying to thrive in the shadows, using deception to trap unsuspecting victims. He doesn’t know the way because he wasn’t ever out to find it. He’s always been the baron on the road robbing passerby with a smile on his face.
*PS: This is from an email by Emeka Ossai sent December 16, 2019, to those on his email list. He said it came from someone named “Pat,” who called him a “con artist,” a title he embraces by the end of this email. I’m not sure if “Pat” was made up or if this was legit. It didn’t come across well. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions. Here is the email in full:
“Con artist! Now that is a new one.
I knew I was a lot of things but a con artist, umm that’s new.
Let’s explore this.

So this person says I’m a con artist, based on what??
Perhaps he bought something from me and didn’t get results?
Maybe he purchased a program and thought it was going to be “click here to get rich,” and when it wasn’t he blamed me for his laziness.
Oh, I know, he listened to someone who said I was a con artist, and without checking facts, he now thinks and believes that I am, in fact, a con artist.
Honestly, who knows and really who cares.
Clearly, they are uneducated, miseducated, or just plain stupid.

Take your pick
I was talking to my wife about the notion of how people don’t trust people online when they sell something.
See, this has been very hard for me to wrap my head around.
When I first started, I followed this one guy who’s done very well for himself.
I watched a few videos and came to a conclusion; I trust this guy.
I didn’t look for reasons to not trust him
I didn’t google, “_______ ______ scam.”
I just used my judgment of character and followed him, and now I have what is going to be a million-dollar online business very soon
Could I find websites and videos talking about him being a scam, absolutely.
But I trust my gut more then what someone says or writes online.
Cause here’s the truth when you sell something that gets people results, such as an increase in income, if one person who buys your program doesn’t get the results they want, they label you as a con artist or scammer.
The people who do this are the ones who are looking to blame everyone but themselves
I feel sorry for these people.
“The day you take responsibility for everything in your life is the day you change everything in your life.”
That was something I learned from my friend Hal Elrod back in the day when we sold knives together, and I’ll never forget the truth in that quote.
Powerful
So going back to our lost soul, Pat…
I had my manager do a quick search. This person has never purchased from me (and hopefully never does).
He signed up for my list, didn’t like, or more likely didn’t understand something and labeled me a con artist.
So it’s settled, I am a con artist according to our friend Pat.
So like all good con artists, here’s the link to my program, please fall for this con.
If you do, there’s an excellent chance, your life will change, your business will grow, and that freedom you gain will bring you more happiness then you could have ever imagined.
