A Brazilian woman named only as “Leila” by local news outlets has died, following her attempted murder of her ex-husband “Marcos,” and it was all caught on video.

What Happened
Armed and ready to kill, on February 9, Leila casually walked into a snack bar jointly owned by her and Marcos in the town of Poa, São Paulo, according to the Sao Paulo Public Security Secretariat. During the subsequent struggle over the firearm, Leila was overpowered and shot dead in the streets by Marcos.
The viral video shows Leila pulling out the gun, as she rounds the corner and comes face-to-face with Marcos. Leila points the gun at the center of Marcos’s chest at pointblank range. Marcos turns into the kitchen of the snack bar, and Leila charges behind him. Another employee runs out, and Leila and Marcos come back out into the lobby.

Marcos rushes at Leila in an attempt to disarm her, but she backs away, while attempting to fire the weapon. It appears she has difficulty doing so. The video cuts to the kitchen, showing three other employees working, and they take no time realizing what’s happening. The men clear the kitchen in a panic, stumbling over one another, while Leila aims her gun at Marcos’s back.
Knowing this was a matter of life or death and that Leila wasn’t going to stop, Marcos charges her again and slips. He regains his footing, grabs her hands and begins tussling with her. The video cuts to them outside tussling.
The altercation outside lasts less than forty seconds. The former couple ends up rolling around in the street, as they fight over the gun. Cars roll by as they do, but no one stops to help. In the chaos, Marcos overpowers Leila, and she is shot in the stomach. Her body is seen flat and motionless in the streets, as he walks away.
Both were taken to the hospital, but Leila did not survive.

Social media users are shocked at the brazen ambush. Many have labeled this a clear case of self-defense. Local authorities have not pressed charges.
