A woman named Hannah Cobb, 28, has been arrested in connection with shooting death of her boyfriend Telvin Osborne, 30.
What Happened
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, at roughly 5:45 am, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in Hephzibah, Georgia responded to a call of shots fired. The police found Telvin Osborne in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, but he sadly did not make it. Now, the internet has questions, and Cobb’s story doesn’t add up.
According to FOX54, Cobb admitted to the lead investigator that she and Osborne had gotten into an argument while out that night and that they had been “drinking heavily.” After, she alleges that they went home, and they “checked” her firearm together. She claimed that this was something they did together every night. This time, she alleges the gun went off “accidentally,” and a bullet struck Osborne in the chest.

The two share a child together, but their child was not present. It is unclear who currently has custody of the child as her mother sits justifiably in jail.
The Family Demands Justice
This shooting has caused waves of debate on social media, but the family of Telvin Osborne are the ones hurt most in this, and they demand justice. This shooting occurred Sunday, but Cobb was not arrested until today. In cases like these where a murder is likely, a suspect is usually held at the station or jail until charged. That did not happen in this case, and this lack of action left the family wondering if justice would be served.
Osborne’s cousin Mark Stevenson made a statement on X, noting that the Cobb’s father is a cop. He wrote, “My cousin’s girlfriend Hannah Cobb killed him Sunday morning and is claiming that she got drunk at the club and came home to clean her gun at 5 a.m. and it ‘accidentally’ went off. Her dad is a cop and currently she has not been charged. The Burke Co. Sheriff has already been warned that it’s about to get very real down there. My family is too deep in that area for this to be taken lightly. RIH Telvin, we gonna get justice one way or another.”

Stevenson’s statement is powerful, and it carries in it the exact concern many watching this case have. Cobb’s killed a man on Sunday and was not charged until days later. She was charged with involuntary manslaughter, a charge that could carry a sentence as light as probation. It could possibly be removed from her record. With this charge, the prosecution only has to prove a death was caused by the reckless actions of Cobb. The charge should be first-degree premeditated murder.
Cobb has admitted that she and Osborne argued previously the night she murdered him. This gives proof of her state of mind and motive. It does not prove she is guilty. It is simply the appropriate charge. If the argument she and Osborne had that night motivated the shooting, what she did is tantamount to lying in wait for someone. It’s an ambush.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
The Takeaway
Hannah Cobb seemingly murdered her boyfriend Telvin Osborne Sunday, and she was just charged with involuntary manslaughter today. The charge is not necessarily too late, but it is too light. It does not reflect the seriousness of Cobb’s actions nor does it carry with it the heavy sentencing she deserves if found guilty. Osborne’s family is demanding justice, and they are well aware of the roadblocks they could face getting it. Show your support to the family however you may.

This is crazy and sad. It is crazy that situations like these are constantly happening just with different people.
