Tech Mogul Elon Musk’s citizenship has come into question after a very public spat with Donald Trump, the man Musk claimed to have gotten elected as president. Both Elon Musk and Donald Trump are stubborn billionaires with no restraint. They’re as petty as can be. With Elon Musk now announcing his new “America Party,” people are wondering will Trump deport him before his party is fully formed.

Elon Musk’s Citizenship Question
A viral clip resurfaced of Elon Musk and his brother recounting their time in the States as “illegal” immigrant businessmen. His brother seemed to imply the two had overstayed their student visas. Although they had been students at some point, they dropped out of school. They should have reported that to Immigration. Instead, they started a business.

The Washington Post reported that Musk was likely working in the US without proper authorization for a period of time in 1995 after he dropped out of Stanford University. The news outlet claims he did so to work on his debut company, Zip2 which he sold for roughly $300 million four years later. TheGurdian.com writes, “Legal experts said foreign students cannot drop out of school to build a company even if they are not getting paid.”
According to GoelLaw.com, a student who overstays their student visa is building an unlawful presence in the country. Doing so is a crime, and a student who does so may:
- “Lose any previous immigration benefits, like employment authorization
- [Find] it more difficult to change your immigration status, i.e. obtaining a green card or a different type of visa
- [Find] it less likely that any future immigration applications will be accepted”
But Will Trump Deport Musk?
In 1923, the government convicted Marcus Garvey of mail and wire fraud. The government then deported him to his home country Jamaica. The legitimacy of the charges are still debated as trumped up reasons to deport a political dissident.
For years, Marcus Garvey protested the government and rallied people to stand up. He took initiative and risked his own money. His vision was to give the oppressed the freedoms and opportunities they deserved.
The government used a criminal conviction to remove him from the country. So, it is not unheard of for famous people to get deported when they get on the wrong side of the government.
As ABC News reports, Donald Trump recently said he will “look” at deporting the Tesla CEO. He also told reporters he might have to “send the monster DOGE back to eat Elon Musk.” If you recall what DOGE did to tens of thousands of Federal employees, you know this thinly-veiled threat is a heavy one. Space-X and StarLink, Musk’s companies, have relied heavily on government subsidies and contracts.
As can be found with a quick Google search, Musk has been accused of a number of crimes. He directed the dismantling of USAID, the same department that was investigating him. Musk’s past immigration status is questionable at best, and he’s being accused of real crimes.
On that note, it only takes Trump to call up FBI Director Kash Patel once about the tech mogul. It takes one accusation to stick him in Alligator Alcatraz until further notice. The question is, will Trump really do it? Will he deport Elon Musk, the richest man in the world?
Trump is the wildest card in the deck. You can’t guess if he’ll eat soup or send an air raid on Holland. But he’s also pettier than traffic cops. My bet is that Elon Musk will be facing deportation inside of twelve months of officially starting his America Party.
The Takeaway
Elon Musk is angry with Republicans for passing Trump’s budget bill into law. Because of this, Musk has pledged the creation of a rival third political party. He’s calling it the America Party. As he’s become more of a threat than a nuisance to the Republicans, Trump has floated the idea to “look” at deporting the SpaceX owner. It sounds funny until Musk’s sketchy past immigration status is considered.
That said, reports indicate there is a strong possibility Musk likely inappropriately worked in the U.S. without proper authorization. One has to wonder if he lied on any of his immigration papers. Did he report dropping out of college? It does not appear he did. If he did lie on any of his immigration papers, his citizenship could be snatched.

while I do believe these two have issues, I do not think trump will ever truly deport elon because of what Elon has done for him plus Elon has certain information on him. I also believe that the power that be would not allow that to happen due to the type money Elon bring in despite his company being down in sales and the type technology advancement he possesses that can be some use to them.
