Cam Jones is YouTube’s biggest loser, and all of his videos are centered around attacking Black people. He’s been on my radar for a while, but writing an article about him didn’t seem worth the effort. His content is shallow, poorly conceived and not thought out well. As a writer, it’s my job to warn people. That’s what this article is.
Why Cam Jones is a Problem
If you haven’t seen any of the “Cam Jones” YouTube channel content, Cam bills the channel as one of deep dives into true crime. The problem is, all of his content portrays Black people in a negative light, painting them as scammers. Even when his allegations fall short of true, he still doubles down on them.
As an example, in a video titled “FUBU Scammers #7: Paris Smith’s Messy Stock Trading Grift,” Cam started out by mentioning Myron Golden. In short, Myron Golden is a successful author and motivational speaker, who’s overcome some life-altering experiences.

Cam says, “ I started this year off investigating Myron Golden, a cross between TD Jakes and a YouTube hustle bro. Selling courses and exclusive ’Yacht Mastermind’ packages for tens of thousands of dollars. Some people claim they got what they paid for which is fine, but that was never my point.”
… false advertising is a legal claim, and Cam isn’t presenting any factual legal evidence.
This skips over the fact that the customer’s satisfaction is the ultimate point. Cam said, “… false advertising and using people’s self-esteem against them makes you a grifter at best and a scammer at worst.” However, there was no false advertising if people got what they expected.
Let’s say you like traveling and someone sells you a vacation package that you love. Now, imagine your cousin dislikes that you bought the vacation package. Does your cousin get to claim you got scammed, even if you actually got a vacation package that you like and expected? Do they get to call the seller a “grifter” because they sold you the package? The answer to all of those questions is no. This is the problem with Cam’s dismissing the positive claims of Myron Golden’s satisfied clients or customers.

Furthermore, Cam’s line that “using false advertising and people’s self-esteem against them” makes a person a grifter or scammer ignores a clear fact: false advertising is a legal claim, and Cam isn’t presenting any factual legal evidence.
Some advertisers have deceptive practices, and it’s wrong. Stores have been sued for “skinny” mirrors designed to make a person look more appealing in that mirror than they do in reality. So, false advertising is a problem. It’s a spectrum, and it’s a legal question. It’s not for a YouTuber to make unsubstantiated claims about. Even though Cam proved nothing against Myron, he used this inquiry to create a conspiracy theory.
… when Cam could find no wrongdoing against Myron, he shifted to a random woman…
Cam points to an influencer and stock trader named Paris Smith and claims that Myron Golden “taught her everything she knows.” He accuses her of making false claims and somehow ties her actions back to Myron. So, when Cam could find no wrongdoing against Myron, he shifted to a random woman who has less than a few thousand followers. This is a weak distraction and play for views.

Going on a fishing expedition to tie a random woman to a man Cam has falsely accused shows the fragility of Cam’s “investigation.” It went nowhere, and instead of admitting that, he moved the goal post. This is not a journalistic investigation. It’s a witch hunt by a biased, poorly informed YouTuber, who’s seeking views over facts. This defines his entire “Cam Jones” channel.
The Takeaway
Cam Jones spent a good chunk of time this year attempting to prove Myron Golden was a grifter selling nothing of value. He mentioned Myron’s courses that are “tens of thousands” of dollars. This is a democracy built on capitalism. A steakhouse can charge $50 for a burger, but a person is free to eat at McDonald’s. Cam’s deep dives are shallow, uninformed and weak. They do a disservice to YouTube. So does he.
