In March of this year, the Pentagon announced it would adopt Palantir’s Maven Smart System as an official “program of record,” making it the primary AI targeting system for the U.S. military. This was good news for billionaire Peter Thiel, who funded JD Vance’s senate run with $15 million and lobbied Trump to get Vance picked as VP. Now, with the war in Iran, Thiel’s plan is working extremely well, threatening to throw America into another decades-long, endless war. At the same time, Palantir’s technology is being used to murder children, and the future outlook is alarming.

Palantir’s Tainted AI Warfare Tech

In January 2024, Palantir signed a strategic partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Defense to provide technology for war-related missions. Their tools like the Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) have been used for real-time battlefield intelligence and targeting decisions in places like Gaza. The technology company has also continued to increase its influence in the American defense sector. Its biggest asset for the American Government is its Maven Smart System.

Project Maven was started in 2017, and it was designed to solve the human exhaustion problem. Through drone surveillance, the American Government collects millions of hours of footage. However, it’s impossible for humans to watch all that footage, but AI can.

Using Computer Vision (CV) and machine learning, Project Maven is able to automatically scan images and video to identify “objects of interest.” This includes vehicles, buildings and people. Even though it started out as a tool for examining drone footage, it has expanded into what some call terrifying territory.

Known as the Maven Smart System (MSS), this tool uses a digital mission control that pulls data from satellites, sensors and social media to create what they call a “common operational picture” for commanders. The social media angle creates a particular risk for protesters or dissenters.

On March 18, the Israeli military committed a strike on a residential building in Beruit, killing journalist Mohamed Sherri, who had been critical of the Israeli government. Reports suggest this was a targeted attack, since the journalist’s presence was confirmed before the attack. Members of his family were killed as well. That’s only one of the many war crimes being carried out by the Israeli military some protesters have argued.

At 10:45 am local time on February 28, the Shajarah Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Iran was hit by a U.S.-Israeli airstrike. About 170 people were killed, and most were female students ages 7 to 12. The Guardian and The Markaz Review reported the strike was part of a “blistering” 1,000-target package generated by AI within the first 24 hours of the war. Some say the AI failed to identify the school as a non-combatant zone. It showed that AI can’t be trusted to spare lives that a human with a conscious would. Either way, Peter Thiel makes a killing.

Peter Thiel and Wealth by War

Since the end of 2025, Peter Thiel’s net worth has increased from about $27 billion to over $30 billion, depending on the source. As the cofounder of Palintir, he also benefited from the $1.9 billion in government contracts the company saw in 2025. The mountain of money only grows from there.

Because Palantir has the new “Program of Record” status for the Maven Smart System and a $10-billion Army framework agreement, analysts predict the company will have profits that exceed $7.2 billion by the end of 2026. War is very profitable for the tech company and Peter Thiel.

A recent, shocking analysis suggests the war adds tremendous value to the stock price of Palantir. It argues the recent war has caused a 40 percent upside in stock price targets, from $150 to $200. That’s a 33 percent increase, and that’s great news for shareholders. It’s not necessarily great news for Americans who don’t want their taxpayer dollars poured into inhumane wars and the pockets of billionaire Peter Thiel. In the upcoming presidential election, the question Americans will vote on is if they want another decades-long war or internal prosperity.

The Takeaway

America and Israel are at war with Iran, and Palantir is the primary beneficiary. Peter Thiel cofounded the company, and he has positioned it as the go-to tool for AI warfare. In the chaos, innocent girls and boys were killed by an Israeli-U.S. airstrike in Minab, Iran. The Israeli military killed journalist Mohamed Sherri and members of his family. And the war continues. It has worked well for Peter Thiel, who is the political benefactor of JD Vance.

Thiel funded Vance’s senate run with $15 million and lobbied Trump to pick Vance as the VP. If JD Vance wins the presidency in the upcoming election on Tuesday, November 7, 2028, it is guaranteed America will be at war for the following 4 years at least. Most likely, it’ll be decades-long with no definitive outcome. Do Americans want war overseas or prosperity in their lives? The next presidential election will tell.
