Mother Who Allegedly Stuffed Kids in Suitcases has Been Indicted for Murder

On Friday the 20th, Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley out of Cuyahoga County announced that a grand jury has indicted 28-year-old Aliyah Henderson with murder and at least 25 other counts for allegedly killing her two young daughters who were found dead in suitcases in Cleveland.

What Happened

On March 2, a man walking his dog made the heartbreaking discovery in a local Cleveland park. When he and his dog reached East 162nd Street and Midland Avenue, the dog began sniffing around a suitcase partly buried. The man opened the suitcase and identified the remains as human before calling the police. That was just the beginning.

After blocking off the crime scene, the police expanded their search and made a second discovery. It was the body of another individual. Using DNA, forensic testing confirmed the deceased were sisters. The investigation led to the bodies being identified as 10-year-old Amor Wilson and 8-year-old Mila Chatman, daughters of Aliyah Henderson.

Henderson is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, where she is expected to plead not guilty.

Henderson has been indicted on six counts of aggravated murder, four counts of murder, six counts of kidnapping, three counts of endangering children, two counts of offenses against a human corpse and tampering with evidence.
