Loser Arrested for Murder of 18-Year-Old Chicago College Student Identified by Mother in Clear Surveillance Footage

According to a statement released by Homeland Security, ICE has asked Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to hold an undocumented immigrant accused of killing an 18-year-old Chicago College student. Jose Medina-Medina is a Venezuelan immigrant, who’s currently being detained for this senseless murder.

What Happened

On Thursday, March 19, Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was walking with her friends in a park. They were in Roger’s Park to see the Northern Lights. They didn’t see the gunman hiding behind a lighthouse. At about 1 am, authorities say Medina jumped out and charged toward Sheridan and her friends, while he was armed with a gun and wearing a mask. Sheridan was absolutely terrified.

In an attempt to get away, she and her friends turned to run. That’s when authorities say Medina ruthlessly pulled the trigger, killing Sheridan at the scene.

Shortly after the murder, the Chicago Police Department began its investigation. Through local surveillance, they were able to identify and track Medina back to his apartment, about a block and a half away. Both Medina’s mother and a maintenance man identified him as the person of interest in the videos. They noted a distinct limp he has. Police also recovered the .40 caliber handgun used in the botched armed robbery. Some say this could have been avoided, considering Medina’s history.

On May 9, 2023, Medina was accosted by U.S. Border Patrol and released. On June 19, 2023, he was arrested for shoplifting in Chicago. However, he was released in that instance as well. Some are questioning if removing him according to the law would have saved Sheridan’s life.
