Mother Says She Killed 11-Year-Old Daughter for “Having Sexual Relations with the Father of Her Other Three Children”

Baltimore mother Keyona Dillon, 34, faces first-degree murder charges after allegedly using a household cleaning tool to strangle her daughter on the morning of January 23, after killing the family pets.

What Happened

On January 23, Baltimore, MD police arrived at the home of Keyona Dillon on the 2000 block of Firethorn Road in Middle River after receiving a phone call about a cardiac arrest. Dillon had gone to her neighbor’s home to make the call. She informed the police her daughter was deceased, and they located the body of her 11-year-old daughter London Olsen in the basement.

Police confirmed that the girl was indeed deceased, and they found a plastic drain cleaner with small spikes next to her body. The victim had ligature marks around her neck that law enforcement determined matched the cleaning tool. From this, they determined it was the murder weapon.

Dillon’s 5-year-old daughter told authorities, “that on Jan. 22, Dillon had killed their family pets, including two cats, a rabbit, and a dog,” according to FoxBaltimore.com. Dillon had killed the animals with a hammer, and police located the carcasses in a trash can. Dillon said that “she killed the animals to show what would happen to [London] if she didn’t tell the truth [about sleeping with the other kids’ father], court documents stated,” the previously mentioned article stated. An investigation determined the girl had suffered no sexual abuse. The story appeared to be untrue.

Dillon’s state of mind was also called into question by investigators. On the day of the murder, when police tried to speak with her after examining the murder scene, she began to “behave erratically” and refused to speak further. Additionally, she made up random stories about people trying to set her up.

Keyona Dillon is being held without bail and has been ordered by the judge to undergo a competency examination.
