Happy Father’s Day: Motivation

Happy Father’s Day from TheReedersBlock.com to all the men doing the most important job in the world. You’re more important than you know, and your influence is greater than you can imagine. I say this as a father watching his two older daughters, ages 15 and 17, grow in the writing and movie industries. On another note, I’ve been in the process of writing a children’s book called Erika Tames a Dragon. It’s about a Chicago girl and her best friend who find themselves in a magical world fighting a dragon. This project has taken a lot of energy, but I got it done. I’m currently in the revising, editing and proofreading phase of the process. I’ve included the working book cover below. It’s still being finalized. Bear with me. I’m aiming for a fall 2026, October-ish, release.

I wrote this story because I have an 8-year old-old daughter, and I wanted a fun book for her to read. I wanted her to explore empathy, team-building and self-esteem. Most importantly, I wanted her to enjoy a story with a fun adventure. I searched but couldn’t find what I was looking for. So, I wrote it for her and all the other kids who just want to have fun reading.
