People are debating whether or not a shooting was justified after a woman was shot to death in a parking lot. The incident was caught on camera from multiple angles, and some are wondering if the shooter might just walk free.
What Happened
On Friday, September 4, a 35-year-old man and 58-year-old woman got into an argument in a TGI Friday’s parking lot. This was in Evergreen Road in Southfield, Michigan near 10 Mile Road.
In the videos, a woman and a man appear to be having an argument. In at least one of the videos, the woman can be seen reaching into her purse several times. People in the crowd ask, “What’s she reaching for?” Someone responds that the woman is reaching for her gun.

As the man and woman argue, a crowd gathers, and some women can be heard egging the woman on. A man can be seen attempting to speak with the woman, who is inside of a “Slighshot” vehicle. The woman doesn’t appear to consider what the man tells her. Some of the women in the crowd say, “That’s right” and “Fuck what he’s talking about.”
Eventually, the 58-year-old woman climbs out of the Slingshot and walks toward the back of it, closing distance between her and a man she was arguing with. It is unclear where her gun was, but the crowd indicates she has it in her hand. A man in a black shirt who’s carrying a white towel on his shoulder can be seen on the opposite side of the vehicle closing the distance as well. And tragedy strikes.

The man is seen lifting a firearm and leaning over as he fires multiple shots in the direction of the woman. In the chaos, six to eight shots can be heard. Reports claiming the two “exchanged gunfire.” The woman and two others were shot.
The 58-year-old woman’s identity has not been revealed, but she didn’t make it. A 54-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and left in serious condition. A 42-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder and bicep. She was taken to the hospital by friends and is in stable condition.
The 35-year-old man was arrested on scene. According to the investigators, both people were concealed carry license holders. Watch the incident from different angles below.
