What Happened
At about 1 am today, Saturday, May 16, two women, ages 21 and 33, were walking in Chicago’s West Loop. As they approached West Randolph and North Clinton street, chaos broke loose.
According to reports by abc7chicago.com, a white SUV pulled up, and an armed man leapt out and approached the women on the sidewalk.
Police say he took a purse from one woman and demanded other property from them. Then, he opened fire on the women.
One of the women was struck in the knee by a bullet. The other was grazed on her hip. After the shooting, the suspect ran to the white SUV and escaped. The two women were taken to local hospitals in good condition.
