As reported by CBS News, on Sunday, July 19, a 27-year-old woman was driving in the 5700 block of South Morgan Street at 11:20 pm. According to police, that’s when a regular, everyday activity nearly turned fatal.
As the woman drove, she suddenly heard gunshots. The bullets tore through her car and shattered the windshield.
In the chaos, the woman felt pain. She realized she had been shot in the hip. Luckily, she was able to drive herself to the local hospital. Reports say she is expected to recover.
