The brother of a Chicago woman who was found dead in a garbage can has been arrested. The circumstances are tragic, and this case just got a little bit more complicated, considering who the victim is in this case.

What Happened
According to FOX News, Javan Weatherspoon, 34, was arrested Wednesday, July 19. The arrest came after he allegedly confronted a woman about his sister, Zenobia.

For context, sources claim the victim in this case was also the friend of Zenobia. These sources allege that she was one of the people who found Zenobia’s body. Under these circumstances and suspicions, Javan approached the victim which is caught on camera.
Reports claim that Javan confronted the 45-year-old woman in a parking lot at 2:15 pm on July 19. It occurred near 54th and Halsted. An argument ensued, and it escalated. Prosecutors allege Javan yelled, “What do you know about my sister?”
From there, police say Javan pistol whipped the victim before shooting her in the hip. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition.
As reported by ABC7, the victim in this case was later identified as a cousin of state senator Lekeisha Collins.
