What Happened
As reported by CBS News, in the early morning of Sunday, August 9, four people were standing outside an Austin Community home. The home is located in the 1400 block of North LeClaire Avenue. At 8:22 am, all chaos suddenly broke out.

As noted in various reports, a white vehicle pulled up, and at least one person produced a firearm. The gunman was wearing a ski mask, and they fired about ten shots. They then sped off, leaving behind blood and panic.
Three people were shot, including a 36-year-old man, who was shot in the right leg, left thigh and right foot. A 43-year-old man was shot in the leg and multiple times in the body. The third victim is a 33-year-old woman, who was shot in the right knee and left foot. The fourth person wasn’t shot but sustained unspecified injuries.

The authorities arrived to find shell casings peppered across the concrete and blood on the steps of the house. They searched inside and outside of the home for victims. All of the victims were transported to local hospitals.
