A gruesome discovery in a Southside home has the community on high alert. Here is what we know and don’t know.
What Happened
As reported by FOX News, at about 7:25 am today, September 7, police responded to a call requesting a well-being check on a 27-year-old woman. It’s unclear what led to the call, but officers responded to a home in the 6300 block of South Vernon. What they found made their stomachs turn.
Area Three detectives found the woman unresponsive inside the home. They noted she had been shot in the head execution-style and left to die on the floor. Paramedics arrived, but they were unable to save the woman. She was pronounced dead on the scene. It is unclear how long the woman had been inside the home. Also, finding evidence was important, but what investigators didn’t find may turn out to be as important.

The police did not find any signs of forced entry to the home. This could indicate that the victim knew her killer and that they could have been a guest inside the home before the murder took place. However, without a suspect, that is only a suspicion.
Moreover, there was no weapon recovered at the scene. This limits the investigation, but it doesn’t stop it. Police don’t have a suspect now, but you can change that.
