The Humboldt Park community is on high alert after a mass shooting injured half a dozen people. Here are the details.

What Happened
Neighbors report that over 100 people showed up for what was supposed to be a peaceful neighborhood gathering. It took place in the 900 block of North Central Park. At about 2:09 am on Sunday, the event took a terrifying turn.
At some point according to ABC7, a gunman approached the party. That person proceeded to let off somewhere around 30 shots, as reported by witnesses and victims. The damage was immediate.

As partygoers took cover and ran, at least six of them were shot. A 36-year-old man was shot multiple times and was transported to Mt. Sinai in critical condition.
A 35-year-old man was shot multiple times as well, but he was transported to the Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition. A 46-year-old woman was shot in the back, while a 34-year-old woman was shot in the hip. Both were listed in good condition, along with the other victims.
No suspect is in custody.
Because of the level of trauma this incident has caused, Habilitative Systems Inc., HSI, is “coordinating mental health support for victims and community members affected by the violence.”
