A Chicago man has been arrested for the murder of two young women, and the arrest brings some closure to the families but not fully. Prosecutors say this man was out killing girls and leaving their bodies in alleys. Here’s what we know.
What Happened
According to Fox News, on September 28, 2024, at 9:30 am, a 911 call came in from a person who lived in the 9500 block of South Avenue N. The person reported finding a body on the ground in the alley. The police came, but there was nothing the could do.
What they found was the lifeless body of a young woman later identified as 19-year-old Sierra Evans. A murder investigation ensued, but no suspects were arrested.

Just over a year later, a Ring Doorbell caught the sound of gunfire in a nearby vacant lot in the 11000 block of South Mackinaw Avenue. This occurred on October 26, 2025. Someone called 911, and the police arrived to find a scene as gruesome as the as the Evans’ scene.
The body of a 17-year-old girl was found, and she was later confirmed to be Gabriella Marie Arellano. Authorities located her in an alley near a vacant lot. However, they didn’t have a suspect. They did have technology.
The Break in the Case
Days after the murder of Arellano, a man named Anthony Nunnally was arrested on October 28, 2025, in Dolton on unrelated carjacking charges. However, the investigation into the murders of Sierra Evans and Gabriella Marie Arellano was just starting.
The Ring Doorbell camera caught footage of the gunman leaving the Arellano scene. Prosecutors allege that Nunnally and another person are caught on that video running from the crime scene, as reported by CBS News. On top of that, prosecutors claim to have a jailhouse confession.
To solve this crime, police went undercover. They employed jailhouse informants, and one of them wore a wire. The informant was a member of the same gang as Nunnally, and this made him confess what he had done, according to reports.
